Jan 25, 2014– Dear Secret Diary, “Why did the chicken cross the road?”  To Get to the Other Side?  Or, according to Star Trek character, Captain “James T. Kirk: To boldly go where no chicken has gone before?'”*  The list of possible answers goes on and on.

We’ve been asking this question forever.  But perhaps it is time to stop asking the question altogether!

Diary, nestled within a group of funny, tin images I saw one day in Central Park is a work that shares a vision of a better world– a world where we have the courage to trust chickens and therefore stop being concerned with why they cross the road:

The Artist Appears to be Telling Us That We Can Trust Chickens**


Well, I decided that I too wanted to be a person who trusts chickens.  On the other hand Diary, when I raised the matter with my good pal and Smiles For All Board of Amusement member Shrink Shake, he emphasized, “But aren’t SOME chickens nefarious, and therefore deserving of having their motives questioned?”

On the other other hand, I am not sure I can “dream of a world where” I can trust Shrink Shake’s motives.  After all, I do feel he once subtly encouraged me to take up smoking.  If you don’t believe me, check out this sad and sordid story!
