My cousin Franco, a nautical adventurist, was towing his boat home from fishing trip when suddenly his car broke down.
He didn’t have his mobile phone with him, but he thought maybe he might be able to raise someone on his marine radio to call for roadside assistance. He climbed into his boat, clicked on the radio and said, “Mayday, mayday.”
A voice came on asked to state his location.
So he gave the number of the road and explained he was about a kilometer south of the coast.
After a very long pause, the voice asked, “How fast were you going when your reached shore?”
