Not too long ago I attended a good friend’s wedding. As I sat there admiring the happy couple, I heard a little girl (this was mostly likely the first wedding she ever attended) ask her mother a question.
“Why does the bride wear white?”
“Because white is the color of joy and happiness and today is the happiest day of her life so she couldn’t have worn another color!” her mom replied in the most comprehensible way so her daughter could understand.
However, after taking a few seconds to think about her mom’s response, the little girl came out with a comeback that made me burst out laughing.
“I guess the groom must be very sad wearing black then, right?”
They say children always speak the truth!
