Fun With Credit Card Companies

Credit Card

March 21, 2015– My beloved and dearest Secret Diary, recently I had a chance to have some fun with two (2) credit card companies, both at the same time!

I was on the phone with a customer service rep from one credit card company (I’ll call it CCC1), trying to get a better limit on a card for which I had just been approved.  The fellow asked what I’d like my limit to be.  I replied, “$100 million.”  Which of course I think was only common sense.

He said he didn’t think I could get a $100mm line, but he would see what he could do.

While on hold, I figured I’d try to kill two birds at once.  So I logged onto my account with a second credit card company (CCC2) to review the accuracy of recently billed transactions.

I was toggling back and forth between windows when I noticed the CCC2 chat screen pop up and the normal invite to chat.  I readily accepted, and below is what transpired.  (Note: I was the “You” in this case, and please Diary don’t get on me for the “I am you” thing.)

——–

“For quality assurance, this chat may be recorded and monitored. For your security, please click “END CHAT X” to close this chat window before leaving your computer unattended or when chat is complete. Your estimated wait time is 0 minutes and 6 seconds.

You are now chatting with ____.

____: Hello, you’re chatting with ___. How can I help you today?

You: I’d like to be taller. Can you help?”

———

While I neither got my line increased to $100mm nor am I taller, I did get a modest increase in my line, and some fun was had by all– a good result Diary if you ask me.
