Choosing Cantaloupes

cantaloupe
I was examining cantaloupes at the grocery store and turned to the clerk, who was refilling the bins.

“Choosing a cantaloupe is like picking a mate for marriage,” I casually joked. “A person has no idea what he’s getting until it’s too late.”

He said nothing at first, but as I walked to the next aisle, he called after me, “I know. I’ve had two cantaloupes.”

This guy knows more than I do.
