Butter For Breakfast

America. Land of the free and home of the all you can eat. We were vacationing in California and it was our first ever trip to the United States and we were eating our way through the golden state.  We never knew it was possible that drinks could come in such sizes and that cars were made with drink holders big enough to hold them. We were having breakfast at our favorite pancake restaurant, and what do you know? It’s all-you-can-eat pancakes. We giggled with glee and waited anxiously for our yumminess to arrive.

The pancakes were set before us and sparkling on top was a lovely dollop of vanilla ice cream, it looked yummy and all, but Americans eat ice cream for breakfast? But who were we to question this fabulous idea. We all scooped up the ice cream and ate it all in one bite. A second letter, the server was staring at us, actually make that two servers and we were gulping down water to get rid of, yes you guessed it, the wedge of butter that we just ate, thinking that it was ice cream. Well played America, well played.
