selfieWe were walking in Central Park and saw a middle-aged woman ostensibly struggling to take a photo of herself.  We asked if we could help.

She replied matter-of-factly, “Oh no thanks, I take selfies.”

The day after this happened (June 18, 2013), we noticed that “tweet”, as in posting on twitter, was added to the Oxford English dictionary.

Therefore, we’re taking bets on when “selfie” will be put into the Oxford English dictionary.

“selfie” made it into the Oxford dictionaries. Reported here on August 28th:

It was actually added at the same time as tweet I believe. It just wasn’t reported until August.

Thanks. Remarkably David, if you do a google search on “Funny Selfies,” it actually makes it onto the top row of photos if you click on the first item that comes up. hard to believe
