Zach, I laughed out loud throughout your touching story. Thanks. Hopefully you don’t mind that you were not chosen last month to be the new Pope.

Zach, I think you made the correct decision for an 8-year old. But seriously, ratatouille. That’s brave. It took me 3 minutes to find out how to spell it on the Internet. I have a general rule that if I can’t spell it, I don’t eat it.

  • The epilogue to this story is that you now eat candy and watch Angels in the Outfield on a daily basis. OOPS

Amazing how it works. The things you want to do as a kid that your parents won’t let you do seem basically to be the same things you want to do as a grown-up. But as a grown-up, instead of your parents, it is you who is fighting with you and not letting you do the things you want to do. Sounds like the ultimate revenge for parents.

I actually made a short doc about that exact struggle! It’s called This is for the Kids and talks about how for years I did everything I could to stay a kid and how that gets to be all kinds trouble. Here’s the link for it if you’re interested!
